I re-arranged my items as I felt my original flatlay wasn't representative of the theme balance and harmomy, I wanted a softer look so I decided to use the fabric as a background rather than the floorboards. I like the dreamy colour and lightness of the arrangement, the colours are complementary but not intentionally. I like the smoothness of the chrome squirrel contrasting with the shaggy wild fleece of the cotswold sheep and the natural airy fabric of the ramie cloth.
Close up of the sheeps fleece, the texture is crimped and full, I love how deep the coat looks. I plan to use roving, corriedale to create this crimped fibre.
Fennel seed heads, close up . Dramatic seed heads that show the beauty of Winter. I plan to sketch these on light paper using natural dyes ,this will be a more abstract look at the dried seed heads. I sketched the shadow, silhouette by candlelight on paper with pencil ,see my first blog entry.
1. I plan to start sketching and pushing myself outside my comfort zone as I am not a person who has experience drawing I am comfortable with fibre and making with wool or fabric so this will be a challenge for me. I will use other mediums to experiment and see what I can create.
- 2. I have started to look at the recommended artists who use mark making in their work. I am particularly interested in Louise Bourgeois's work. I will research the other artists mentioned alongside some other names I am drawn to.
