Creating surfaces Part 2 Project 2.1 selecting

Review of my folio drawings. After my formative feedback with my tutor I took time to look over my work again taking into account her comments on my mark making and the importance of composition and colour,  I have since created more Marks elaborating on them as some needed more development and  colour change. I quickly saw what work was strongest eliminating the weaker work and also selecting a broad variety of colour and medium.

My  6 selected drawings

1. The victorian cuff coffee mark was a success and we agreed it was something I could develop on.

2. I have chosen my gouache image of the bright yellow st. John's wort ,I like the results from using this medium, especially the texture.

3. I used gouache mixing colours to get the correct brown creating Marks showing the thistle heads, I used water to dilute the gouache giving a different effect.

4. Poncho

5. Mexican inspired top

6. Detail of embroidered panel on front side ,rectangle with triangles
Painted on plaster board with gouache and water.

I'm looking forward to experiment with different papers and techniques.
